The team

All the PBscience team are sport scientists with experience in competition, a rare combination that enables delivery of the right answers to the appropriate questions across training, performance and nutrition.

Dr-Helen-Carter-leads-the-pbscience-team With a BSc (Hons) Sport Science and a PhD in Exercise Physiology, Helen Carter is ideally placed to head up the PBscience team. Since completing her PhD in 1998, she has continued to research in the area of endurance performance – her specialism being laboratory assessment of endurance fitness and the physiology of training. A British Association of Sport and Exercise Science Accredited physiologist, Helen has presented her work to audiences across the world. She has published over 30 papers in the scientific literature and currently reviews of 7 international science journals. She is a qualified British Cycling Coach and a member of the Association of Cycling Coaches
Dan-Henchy-is-assistant-coach-at-pbscience Dan Henchy gained his MSc in Sport Science in July 2010, and is now working on his PhD at the University of Brighton. Like Helen, Dan's research interest is endurance physiology, with a special application to modelling of the training response and training stress. Dan is a third category road racer and also enjoys time trialling. Currently studying for his British Cycling Level 2 Award, he is the cycling coach behind the Member plan.
